Welcome to Hertford based LifeStage Dramatherapy
What is Dramatherapy: Is it Right for My Situation?
Dramatherapy is not new. In fact its effective therapeutic healing value was widely practised and documented throughout western culture in the early 19th century. In 1976, The British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth) was formed providing a professional base across the country: Lives are being transformed and enhanced every day. As the term implies, dramatherapy employs all of the performing arts within the therapeutic relationship to create methods to engage clients in effecting psychological, emotional and personal social changes.
Therapy affords equal validity both to mind and body within the dramatic context. As examples, stories, improvisation, playtexts, masks and puppetry are a few of the artistic resources employed to induce lasting, positive change. LifeStage employs classical as well as proven progressive methods to achieve the best and right outcome for its clients who typically include young adults experiencing difficult conditions. It is in these areas we specialise while deploying extensive resources efficiently and to optimum client benefit. LifeStage works exclusively on a ‘one to one’ basis with clients.
